Kristy Richardson's Cancer Blog

Cancer sucks on so many levels. In the short time that I have known about having kidney cancer it has caused so many problems. The biggest problem has been financially. With no money to pay for medical care, no health insurance and no Medicaid coverage – it has been like pulling teeth to get treated for this. I have gone on all-night emailapaloozas trying to get my story to the state and federal level in hopes of finding a loop-hope that qualifies me for Medicaid. I still haven’t found a loop-hole – but I did find a wonderful surgeon willing to at least remove the tumor and arrange a liver biopsy.

I have another blog, my main blog, that explains everything in great detail. You can visit it by going to my profile.

There are a ton of good websites for Kidney Cancer out there. Some really good blogs too. For instance, there is Tom Lavelle’s Cheeseburgers to Go, David Foster’s Kickin’ Kidney Cancer’s Arse, and Manuel Lopez’s Kidney Cancer Fighter. I have links to them at my main blog. I also like Lori Miller’s ‘Too Sexy for my Hair’ blog. Sadly, Lori lost the fight in October of this year.

Of course, the name of my blog is the Accidental Tourist. I am Accidental because this was an Incidental Finding and I am a Tourist because I have no intention of sticking around as a cancer patient – I plan to beat this!
